William W. Dexter, MD, FACSM is Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and Director of the Sports Medicine Program at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. A former Associate Editor of the Yearbook of Family Practice, he serves on various scientific, editorial and review boards, chairs the Medical Education Committee for the American College of Sports Medicine and is Team Physician for the University of Southern Maine, Cheverus High School and the Portland Pirates (AHL).
Jonathan Drezner, MD, is Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Associate Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, and Team Physician at the University of Washington. He Chairs the Research Committee of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, Directs the National Registry for AED Use in Sports, and is a member of the Editorial Board for the Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine.
Elizabeth Joy, MD, MPH, is Associate Professor of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Utah. She serves as a team physician for the University of Utah Athletic Department, is director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, and directs the multidisciplinary Utah Sports Research Network (USRN).
Gordon O. Matheson MD, PhD, is Professor of Sports Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine and Director of Sports Medicine for Stanford Athletics. He is a former Olympic physician, NHL team physician, Past-President of the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine, and Editor of the Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine and The Physician and Sportsmedicine.
Winne Meeuwisse, MD, PhD, is Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary and Editor of the Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine. He is also the Chair of the National Hockey League Health Management Panel, Director of Sport Medicine for the Canadian Sport Centre Calgary and a consultant physician to recreational, university, Olympic and professional athletes.
William O. Roberts, MD, (Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board), is Professor of Family Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health and the Division of Sports Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School and Program Director of the University of Minnesota St Johns Family Medicine Residency. He is the Medical Director for Twin Cities Marathon, Inc, Chair of the Minnesota State High School League Sports Medicine Advisory Committee, a Past-President of the American College of Sports Medicine, and a former Editor of Your Patient and Fitness.
